Another way to permanently increase inventory is by taking paid riding lessons. To do so, you must visit any stable in the game world, meet its owner (Stablemaster) and go to the Riding Trainer tab. You can choose the mount Carry Capacity lessons and each lesson you take will permanently increase your inventory by 1 slot. Your inventory always holds 28 items, there is no way to make it bigger. You can summon a beast of burden, which has it's own inventory. The beasts of burden are: Thorny snail (3 inventory spaces) Spirit kalphite (6 inventory spaces) Bull ant (9 inventory spaces) Spirit terrorbird (12 inventory spaces) War tortoise (18 inventory spaces). Really, the only things anyone should by are those 3 types of inventory capacity increases, until they are maxxed.
Pack Merchants are merchants who sell backpacks which increase your carrying capacity by up to 80 slots, according to the following table:

Notes[edit]
Eso Max Inventory
- Bag space upgrades can instead be purchased with Crowns in the Crown Store. This does not affect the cost per upgrade at a Pack Merchant; increasing to 100 slots will cost 11,000 gold regardless of whether the preceding three upgrades were bought at a Pack Merchant or in the Crown Store. Thus it's better to purchase the lower level bag upgrades with in-game gold and save your Crowns for the later ones, rather than the reverse.
- Since Update 17, you can now receive one free bag upgrade upon reaching level 12 via the Level Up Advisor, but only if you have not already purchased any. It is thus better to wait until after level 12 to start upgrading it, though this will only save you 400 .
